With the raging waves in the night, a solitary, small sailboat rides against the bodies of water, with stars lighting its path ahead.

In this enchanting painting, Ashley captures the magic of the ocean at night. She uses paint markers to draw the swirling waves on a canvas painted with shades of teal. With deft brushstrokes, she adds in the twinkling stars that guide the sailboat on its journey, and finally painting the large sparkling stars in shimmering gold. The resulting image is a captivating and dreamlike vision of the sea at night.

Known for her love of Disney’s Frozen characters, Ashley excels at freehand drawing and renders the movie characters, Elsa and Anna, with amazing detail and likeness. She uses a mix of mediums such as pencil, pens and watercolour paints in her work. Ashley’s artistry has grown tremendously in Rainbow Centre’s Artability programme. As an art apprentice, she has learnt to diversify her talents and is currently exploring nature and architecture artworks, instead of her usual fashion drawings.
