The lotus leaves floating on the water represents purity and calmness. Chee Meng wishes to express lotus as a symbol of enlightenment and rebirth. Even when their roots are in the dirtiest waters, the Lotus are still able to grow beautifully despite the poor environment.

Chee Meng has been training and working at Arts@Metta since 2008 producing batik painting and pottery art pieces. He is now one of our resident artist in the arts studio. Diagnosed with intellectual disability, his employment at Arts@Metta enables him to lead an independent life and integrate into society. Chee Meng also enjoys planting and watching Korean dramas.
