Flora of the Tropics: Bird of Paradise

Flora of the Tropics: Bird of Paradise

One of the three installations of Gin Long’s tropical flowers series.
In Flora of the Tropics: Bird of Paradise, Gin Long creates his impression of the Strelitzia reginae, with its dramatic splayed petals in vibrant colours.

The artist captures the exotic flaming hues of red, orange and yellow. There is bold contrast between the bright colours and deep shades of purple and blues in the inner tepals.

The yellows and greens in the background illustrates the tropical atmosphere in which the flower is found in and the geometric rectangular forms to give the artwork a contemporary twist to the floral art genre.

As a new and imaginative student, there is unlimited potential awaiting him as he continues to learn and improve in his art.
