An Iridescent Rebel

An Iridescent Rebel

This artwork was created during one of Amalina’s Art Therapy Sessions.

It was meant to hold a strong powerful expression; having the courage to take that bold step forward and to take control over things that are only beautiful temporarily and independently. She built confidence and encouraged herself that it is okay to be unique, applying her learning experience and letting them shine in life.

The background layer is covered with a few colours using various palette knives. The bright and vivid view is then covered by a bold black frame spread across the front layer with brushes. Iridescent and gold paint luminates the board especially within the black frame, radiating at different viewing angles.

So… how do you feel?

Amalina, 27, was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Doodling on her notes with her black pen since young, pen and ink has now become her signature art style. It helps her feel hopeful and grounded, and she is beginning to explore the world of colours. Ina strongly believes that “there is no right or wrong, good or bad artwork and that every art showcases the beauty of a person’s state of mind, identity and the beautiful visual product of one’s brain juices.”
