More than 150 community artists with special needs took part in the inaugural two-week Shaping Hearts Festival. Organised by North East Community Development Council (NE CDC), the Shaping Hearts is held at Our Tampines Hub from 13 to 26 November 2021, launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Heng Swee Keat.

During this two-week festival, the public were treated to an array of visual and performing arts display.

Art Exhibition featuring 170 art pieces by differently abled artists

Movie Screenings and Live Performances by musicians and performing groups with special needs, featuring some performing acts in collaboration between homegrown musicians

Workshops such as Batik Painting, and to learn the Sign Language

One-stop Online Shop for public to purchase artworks by the differently abled artists

Live Art Auction that raised $70,000 with 5 paintings!

Shaping Hearts 2021 hopes to promote greater advocacy for the special needs community, to benefit their holistic development through the arts. With this platform, NE CDC hopes to sustain and support employment opportunities through their talents and enable them to pursue their interests in art and music.
